Monday, April 22nd, the Green Line starts to sport a single car covered in the life cycle of a monarch.
Should you step into this train car, you will immediately find yourself in Minnesota landscapes and seasons, and all times of day. As you look closely, you will find personified animals enjoying the outdoors and landmarks.
This work was fully illustrated by Sarah Nelson, and will be up through May of 2019. It is in celebration of this beautiful planet we call home and in collaboration with Metro Transit and the University of St. Thomas’s SCP Arts, Department of Justice and Peace Studies, and the CAS SOLV Initiative.
All partners believe in the importance of caring for our planet, and believe that art has the capacity to help educate, engage, and celebrate the sustainable efforts in our communities. We hope this train car not only brightens your day, but encourages curiosity, joy, and a deeper love for this beautiful world we call home.
Happy Earth Day.
